Code of Conduct
Wairarapa Wool Weekend is an event designed to bring people together to celebrate and embrace things we have in common. We are dedicated to creating a welcoming, safe and respectful environment for all. We value and respect all individuals, regardless of race, age, culture, ability, weight, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic status, neurodiversity or craft preference. There is an expectation that all attendees of Wairarapa Wool Weekend will accept and honour these values. We all have far more in common with each other than not. Enjoy yourself and enjoy the company of the other attendees.
Examples of unacceptable behaviour
Harassment, abuse, or inappropriate actions of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes (but is not limited to):
- Threats or intimidation
- Hurtful language
- Physical assault or inappropriate contact
- Unwelcome sexual attention
- Deliberately misgendering or misnaming someone
- Bullying, stalking, or unwelcome recording
- Committing an unlawful act or promoting anything illegal
Reporting of Issues
If you feel unsafe or witness harassment, notify a Wairarapa Wool Weekend team member as soon as you are able to. We are here to ensure everyone feels safe and supported throughout the event.
If the conduct of an individual does not reflect the values of Wairarapa Wool Weekend, the organisers have the right to take action to ensure the safety of others. That action is at the discretion of the organisers and may range from a caution through to removal from the event.
